TIPS & TRICKS:
Preload in advance of appointment your aligner template trays with Vit-l-escence™ Trans Ice and store in a black model box. This will reduce your chair time and allow you to focus on isolation at the time of bonding.
- Make sure your attachments are well defined and adapted to the tray. Pack the Vit-l-escence™ Trans Ice against the tray using a plastic instrument. This will help the teeth to move properly during treatment.
- Slightly overfill the attachment area of the template aligner and apply pressure to remove air bubbles. Too much composite will result in excess flash.
- You can use on the tissue prior to etching and bonding attachments to control sulcular fluid control.
- Be sure to turn away overhead lights, as Vit-l-escence™ Trans Ice is very translucent.
- Vit-l-escence Trans Ice has fluorescent properties, so you can use a to see the attachments, making removal easier at the end of treatment.
If placing attachments on crowned teeth, use the following steps:
PORCELAIN CROWNS (i.e., Lithium Disilicate)
- Use (9% hydrofluoric acid) to etch porcelain (be very careful when doing intraorally), rinse off acid, dry and place silane on etched porcelain. Place template aligner loaded with composite resin and light cure.
ZIRCONIA OR METAL CROWNS
- Microetch (sandblast with Aluminum Oxide) area on crown where attachment will be placed. Rinse and dry. Place a zirconia primer (MDP) on all areas that were microetched. Place template aligner loaded with composite resin and light cure.
